Antarctica
The Antarctica continent is 14 million squared km in size placing it fifth among the continents. Nearly all the land surface is covered by ice and snow making it uninhabitable by humans with no permanent human residents anywhere across the continent.
Antarctica is believed to be the most important continent when it comes to global warming, as melting ice plates can cause a global rise in oceans water level, thus flooding numerous coastlines and islands across the globe. Furthermore, Antarctica is home to vast fields of yet to be discovered natural resources making it a constant point of friction between global political powers (Up to the present time, Antarctica is a neutral zone, but there are a few countries that claim sovereignty over several of it's part. These claims have not been accepted by the rest of the world and for the near future at least, Antarctica will stay free from politics, military activity or industrial development.
